A Black man was murdered while sleeping in his car, his name was Willie McCoy. I’m lost for words because before every photoshoot I explain that I’m doing this project to humanize us because we are shot down like dogs. I’m hurt for the family, and I’m frustrated with the Black men that say to me this project is gay or decline because they don’t want to look soft. Look soft?! Who’s controlling how they look when they are sleep? And with my twisted way of thinking, I’m guessing none of you been to an open casket funeral. If you have then you know the most common words being used to describe the deceased. I hope this doesn’t come off insensitive or taking away from the victim, I’m just frustrated and confused.
