I’ve learned that in many cases before an understanding is reached, there’s always a disruption. Sleeping Beauty is the disruption; it makes Black men uncomfortable. Black men are trying to figure out who they are. When I approach someone about this project, I have to remind myself that I’m speaking to someone who might not have the same level of understanding as me. We all have to be patient in terms of how we arrive to this topic. We all want things to move quickly, but there’s a lot of unlearning work to do. THAT can’t be rushed, I appreciate all Black men (PERIOD)
