Black men, let’s do the unromantic and tedious work necessary to forge meaningful dialogue, even if it drains us. Let’s write down everything we know about being afraid and share it with one another. Please see me because I see you, because If I fail to recognize each black man as faces of myself then I am contributing to their oppression and mine. I’m angry because I feel alone when I know I’m not. . Men are trash, ok, but I’m a Black man. I have survival skills, I have the ability to change, to metabolize experience, good or ill, into something that is useful, lasting, and effective.
