Words from Ricky - John 1:1 says: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. Logos is the Greek word that is translated into “word” in this scripture. However, there is another translation of the Greek logos, IDEA. It's my mantra. In the beginning is the IDEA, and the IDEA is with you, and the IDEA IS you. The foundational idea we have about self is critical. The idea becomes words, words become behaviors, behaviors become who we are. Black men can be any glorious thing we choose to be, but it starts with our idea about self. I turn away from the idea that others place in our minds about who we are or should be and embrace the truth that we are a physical manifestation of the IDEA of God.
